Mahatma Gandhi

Seven deadly sins

Mahatma Gandhi said seven things will destroy us:

· Wealth without work

· Pleasure without conscience

To learn to give and take, to live selflessly, to be sensitive, to be considerate, is our challenge.

The ultimate costs of pleasures without conscience are high as measured in terms of time and money, in terms of reputation and in term of wounding the hearts and minds of other people who are adversely affected by those who just want to indulge and gratify themselves in the short term.

· Knowledge without character

As dangerous as a little knowledge is, even more dangerous is much knowledge with a strong principled character.

· Commerce (business) without morality (ethics)

· Science without humanity

· Work without faith is like an attempt to reach the bottom of a bottomless pit.

· No matter how insignificant the thing you have to do, do it as well as you can, give it as much of your care and attention as you would give to the thing you regard as most important. For it will be those small things that oyu shall be judged.

A person cannot do right in one department while attempting to do wrong in another department. Life is one indivisible whole.

Weather.

Weather!
I was walking to a restaurant after class today and all of a sudden the sky turned to Turquoise and very dark! The sky was like something I never saw before…and I wished I had my digital camera! I got inside the restaurant before it started to rain! My friends and I were sitting and just watching people running around trying to go into the stores. There was a huge flood because the drainage system was covered with all these garbage that were floating on the street…so the cars that were parked in front of the restaurant were covered with water about half way. Then the restaurant ceiling started to leak!

I am back!

I am back from Toronto. What a busy week! Crazy! This time I got to drive around Toronto and learn the places so now I could go around by myself. We were just in and out of stores getting what we needed for the wedding. Everything was just a huge rush! One of the nights at the hotel my sister and I got into the Jacuzzi, which was so relaxing!! I don’t think I have spoken so much Tamil in a week before. Learned so much about Hindu weddings! The wedding turned out to be so beautiful.
Every day was a long day with number of things that needed to be done. So many people to see and so many times to arrange. The entire wedding day was depended on other people making things happen. That day everything was out of our control. I kept on thinking how life moves so fast. I guess everyone thinks about these things when there is some milestone event happening right in front of you. It was a great one week!
The hotel I stayed in was perfect! It was such a relaxing place yet so many activities going on outside...
the best time I had in Toronto. Met some great people!

My fav. picture of the bride and groom....HINDU STYLE...hahaha Since I was taking a lot of the pictures...I am not in too many of them...hopefully the professionals that were hired took some of me!

I took this picture while I was waiting for my sister to get some documents filed for the wedding.
