Terri Schiavo

I can't believe the family of Terri Schiavo were not able to come to a decision by themselves. Here is something that might have helped the family make a better decision:

Learned Lesson

When people give you advice, you don't have to take it but if you just truly listen to it then it will save you from a lot of regrets. When you truly listen to others you could learn so much. Often the advices might seem irrelevant at that time for you but just listening and thinking about it could save you a lot of wasted time. I wish I done this more in the past. When people gave me advices before I would often think that I'll never get myself in a situation where I would need to use this advice...but you'll be suprised how things turn out...I sure was! I just wished I realized I was human and sometimes things could happen to me even if I don't plan for it. When you take what other people say you could actually be conscious about a particular situation and plan for it!

does this make sense? I am not going to list all the things I regret even though there were resources that could have helped me not make mistakes but I didn't listen/see! Somethings will happen regardless but you should always be willing to listen to others and learn from their mistakes before it happens to you.

*if you are reading this ... but not really THINKING about what I am saying...then you are not getting anything out of this post. Be wherever you are 100%!

The Essence of Destiny

"Watch your thoughts, for they become words.
Choose your words, for they become actions.
Understand your actions, for they become habits.
Study your habits, for they become your character.
Develop your character, for it becomes your destiny."

Wells Fargo!

Amazing thing. Wells Fargo has all my checks that I wrote now copied online. I always write checks and forget to write down to who and how much. Now I don't even have to worry about it. The check image is very clear and so easy to see online. I was very surprised with how easy it is to access and view all my checks! Now my mom doesn't have to bother me to balance my checkbook anymore! Technology=freedom! This has always been a issue with me and I am so glad my bank is doing this. Online banking is the way to go!

Again?!

Another school shooting. Of all states this time Minnesota....but didn't another school shooting happen here a year ago too?
It was the nation's deadliest school shooting since the Columbine massacre in April 1999
killed his grandparents and 5 classmates
It feels like it happens every year now....if not Minnesota some other states
I haven't really paid too much attention to this one but reasons I heard are so many.

depression medications
listening to some music that talks about killing people
home life
being teased in school
supporting some Nazi website
sixteen years old
being a male

and on and on...

After everything has happened everyone wants all the little details. Details as to who is most to blame.

The social culture has to change...High school needs to feel more like school then some popularity contest.

traffic

My sister and I drove to Toronto.

Got stuck in traffic for about five hours..and I was only a hour away from home! Could've walked home and came back and joined the car. All we did around this time was point at all the cars that were in the ditch because of the bad road conditions.

bridge

Never even been around this area before. It was good we got lost otherwise would have missed this scene. Must take the tunnel next time.

Missed the highway to the bridge so got lost for about a hour. Finally had to pull over and ask someone for directions. The guy that was trying to help didn't know the bridge directions but knew a tunnel that would bring us to Toronto. Never even heard of a tunnel that would lead into Canada...but by this time we were willing to try anything. Must of been a bad neighborhood because this guy was in a bulletproof room..with a microphone...it was kinda funny because he was one of those biker dudes in a bulletproof room....he was nice though. Gave really good directions.

The camera almost fell out the car window...

Didn't end up going through the tunnel when we were coming back. Found the highway to the bridge. I was so happy that the patrol officer who questioned us when were coming back wasn't that strict. If some other officer then for sure we wouldn't have been able to bring some of the things back to the states. Nothing big...but some of the food I bought back wouldn't have been easily allowed.

Dalai Lama

The Dalai Lama's instructions of life...

  • Take into account that great love and great achievements involve great risk
  • When you lose, don't lose the lesson
  • Follow the three R's - respect for self, respect for others, responsibility for all your actions
  • Remember that not getting what you want is sometimes a wonderful stroke of luck
  • Learn the rules so you know how to break them properly
  • Don't let little dispute injure a great friendship
  • When you realize you've made a mistake take immediate actions to correct it
  • Spend time alone everyday
  • Open your arms to change but don't let go of your values
  • Remember that silence is sometimes the best answer
  • Live a good honorable life. Then when you get older and think back you'll be able to enjoy it a second time
  • A loving atmospehere in your home is the foundation of your life
  • Share your knowledge. It's a way to acheive immortality.
  • In disagreements with loved ones, deal only with current situation. Don't bring up the past
  • Be gentle with the earth
  • Once a year, go someplace you've never been before
  • Remember that the best relationship is one in which your love for each other exceeds your need for each other
  • Judge your success by what you had to give up in order to get it
  • Approach love and cooking with reckless abandonment
  • My religion is very simple. My religion is kindness

Philip Larkin

I thought the line "Man hands on misery to man" was something to think about.

This Be The Verse

They fuck you up, your mum and dad
They may not mean to, but they do.

They fill you with the faults they had
And add some extra, just for you.

But they were fucked up in their turn
By fools in old-style hats and coats,
Who half the time were soppy-stern
And half at one another's throats.

Man hands on misery to man.
It deepens like a coastal shelf.
Get out as early as you can.
And don't have any kids yourself.

Side note: I was doing spell check for this post and the word fuck was picked up. For some reason my immediate thought was that maybe the word is not in the dictionary...that would be crazy..so made sure with dictionary.com ...........................interesting

Native American Grandfather

A Native American grandfather was talking to his grandson about how he felt.

He said, "I feel as if I have two wolves fighting in my heart. One wolf is the vengeful, angry, violent one. The other wolf is the loving, compassionate one."

The grandson asked him, "Which wolf will win the fight in your heart?"

The grandfather answered, "The one I feed."

Must Have Once a Year

A laugh.
Not just that small laugh
but the one that makes you drop to the floor because your stomach hurts so badly
tears are coming down

feel like you are going to die laughing
begging to the person who is making you laugh uncontrollably to stop doing what ever they are doing.
This is a must have at least once a year
if this situaion occurs in your life more than once in a year...then you are LUCKY!

It all started when my sister started to imitate a Tamil movie song. The Rest was History.

My Favorite Drink

Ingredients: Filtered water, organic brown rice (partially milled), expeller pressed high oleic safflower oil, sea salt.

Doesn't sound that good by the ingredients was my first thought. But this organic rice drink is better than soda! The reason for this post was my amazement that this drink is aimed at kids. The front cartoon is of the famous children book "Cat In The Hat". If you purchase six of these products then they'll send you some little cup! What kid is going to be drinking organic rice drink? I highly doubt it. It's still interesting that they are trying to target children. I don't even know many adults who would give this drink a try?

To Fly or Not to Fly...Most of the Time is not a Choice

BusinessWeek, March 7, 2005 issue had an article about web sites that can show you seating plan for your aircraft. "It's tough to fly in style-let alone in comfort." I don't think anyone thinks about style for long in a plane! Planes are hell! So crowded, getting stuck with that one woman who has to go to the restroom every 20 minutes and little gang of kids kicking your seat...just for fun. There's only one way you can most likely enjoy a plane ride commercially is when I flew to Chicago. Empty plane with only about twenty people at most! That's the best ride I had even though it only lasted for 50 minutes.

SeatGuru.com offers seating layouts for 25 airlines based in U.S. and overseas. The information is gathered by frequent fliers who have some together for one goal : comfort and getting something little extra from their flight: the seats that have power-port access for labtops). The site gets hundreds of suggestions every month and is updated weekly. The recent additions of flights are Singapore Airlines and Hong Kong based Cathay Pacific Airways.

Other similar sites:

European Airlines

Asia (coming soon)

I'll use this resource next time I travel. But I'll wait till' I get my own private jet to get my hopes up really high about flying in comfort and style anytime soon!!
