BusinessWeek, March 7, 2005 issue had an article about web sites that can show you seating plan for your aircraft. "It's tough to fly in style-let alone in comfort." I don't think anyone thinks about style for long in a plane! Planes are hell! So crowded, getting stuck with that one woman who has to go to the restroom every 20 minutes and little gang of kids kicking your seat...just for fun. There's only one way you can most likely enjoy a plane ride commercially is when I flew to Chicago. Empty plane with only about twenty people at most! That's the best ride I had even though it only lasted for 50 minutes.
SeatGuru.com offers seating layouts for 25 airlines based in U.S. and overseas. The information is gathered by frequent fliers who have some together for one goal : comfort and getting something little extra from their flight: the seats that have power-port access for labtops). The site gets hundreds of suggestions every month and is updated weekly. The recent additions of flights are Singapore Airlines and Hong Kong based Cathay Pacific Airways.
Other similar sites:
European Airlines
Asia (coming soon)
I'll use this resource next time I travel. But I'll wait till' I get my own private jet to get my hopes up really high about flying in comfort and style anytime soon!!

hi tess,
i can totally relate to the bad experiences on the plane. i was going to cali a couple years ago, there was this guy who fell asleep and his head was turned in my direction, he was breathing down my neck for 30 minutes. so i have to pretend that i needed to use the bathroom, so he could wake up. so, the next time, i travel it's going to be first class.
