So Beautiful!

Monday, August 15, 2005

I added more quotes to the sideblog.

My work is so boring when I don't have school work to do or I didn't bring anything to read. I don't know how others who are not in school get through eight hours of just sitting and staring. It takes a lot out of you...bordom does.

crazy scrapbookers!

I spent most of my day at Archiver's-The Photo Memory Store. There were so many people working for hours on their scrapbook! First off I didn't know there were so many people interested in scrapbooking. Most people must be experts because their scrapbook was about 500 pages while mine is like 15!!! They kept looking at my scrapbook because they definitely knew I was a beginner! It was almost like a race to finish pages!! When you see people come into this workroom they look like they are going to the airport because everyone has suitcases of scrapbooking stuff that they bring.

The store itself is fabulous! They have quiet a bit of stuff you could use for free and if you need something you could get it at the store. The unique part about it is that when you first go in you could start an account for that day and when you pick up stuff you just let the cashier know and once you are all done for that day you pay. This makes it more relaxing so you don't have to go with your wallet every time you need a sticker.. :-) if you are into stickers.

My 15 page work of art is somewhat unique compared to the others. I don't like buying everything pre-made and just sticking it to the pages. No fun in that for me...but it saves a lot of time to do this...
I rather make it my own not something someone working at Archiver's could put together.

It was great to see people spending so much time on what they are passionate about.
you are never alone in this world.

Textbooks for sale!

All day I have been on Half.com searching for my textbooks! What an amazing site! It's great! I have saved so much money on my books for this semester. I got excited so I ran out to the trunk and got all my old textbooks. And now they are online for others to buy and I was surprised with the recommended selling price for the books...it was higher than I thought they would be! Even the books I used three years ago are still being purchased for reasonable price. Now I just have to wait and see who will buy them!

Is great to be learning something new and easy everyday!

Mahatma Gandhi

Seven deadly sins

Mahatma Gandhi said seven things will destroy us:

· Wealth without work

· Pleasure without conscience

To learn to give and take, to live selflessly, to be sensitive, to be considerate, is our challenge.

The ultimate costs of pleasures without conscience are high as measured in terms of time and money, in terms of reputation and in term of wounding the hearts and minds of other people who are adversely affected by those who just want to indulge and gratify themselves in the short term.

· Knowledge without character

As dangerous as a little knowledge is, even more dangerous is much knowledge with a strong principled character.

· Commerce (business) without morality (ethics)

· Science without humanity

· Work without faith is like an attempt to reach the bottom of a bottomless pit.

· No matter how insignificant the thing you have to do, do it as well as you can, give it as much of your care and attention as you would give to the thing you regard as most important. For it will be those small things that oyu shall be judged.

A person cannot do right in one department while attempting to do wrong in another department. Life is one indivisible whole.

Weather.

Weather!
I was walking to a restaurant after class today and all of a sudden the sky turned to Turquoise and very dark! The sky was like something I never saw before…and I wished I had my digital camera! I got inside the restaurant before it started to rain! My friends and I were sitting and just watching people running around trying to go into the stores. There was a huge flood because the drainage system was covered with all these garbage that were floating on the street…so the cars that were parked in front of the restaurant were covered with water about half way. Then the restaurant ceiling started to leak!

I am back!

I am back from Toronto. What a busy week! Crazy! This time I got to drive around Toronto and learn the places so now I could go around by myself. We were just in and out of stores getting what we needed for the wedding. Everything was just a huge rush! One of the nights at the hotel my sister and I got into the Jacuzzi, which was so relaxing!! I don’t think I have spoken so much Tamil in a week before. Learned so much about Hindu weddings! The wedding turned out to be so beautiful.
Every day was a long day with number of things that needed to be done. So many people to see and so many times to arrange. The entire wedding day was depended on other people making things happen. That day everything was out of our control. I kept on thinking how life moves so fast. I guess everyone thinks about these things when there is some milestone event happening right in front of you. It was a great one week!
The hotel I stayed in was perfect! It was such a relaxing place yet so many activities going on outside...
the best time I had in Toronto. Met some great people!

My fav. picture of the bride and groom....HINDU STYLE...hahaha Since I was taking a lot of the pictures...I am not in too many of them...hopefully the professionals that were hired took some of me!

I took this picture while I was waiting for my sister to get some documents filed for the wedding.

Nicki: did you say the white house is another museum?

Is kinda hard to capture rain. But the rain drops on the leaves are a nice touch..I thought. :-)

boredom result in taking pictures of your own site :)

I should not have the need to be bored because I have so many things I could be doing...but I am. I blame it all on the weather. Is the coldest May day in 40 years! Is been raining all day..and the house was freezing until my dad came from work to turn back the heat.
I guess this is what I wanted yesterday when my last exam ended but now...I am so bored.

just need this link for the future.

Blogger Template Tutorial
I am done with the semester. This semester has been so long! After my last exam I was so tired that all I wanted to do was sit around the house all day. But I am taking summer classes, which start in a month so I'll be back in school soon.

I went to Blockbuster to get a movie. I been noticing how is becoming harder to get tapes of movies. All the movies are on DVD's and the DVD's all have so many additional features. Is really a waste for me since I don't have time to listen to all the commentaries, interviews, and making of the movie.

The day is starting out to be not so good. I left all the windows open in my bedroom last night and this morning is so cold that I woke up freezing! What a day and is only 8:30 a.m.! UPDATE: situation at work with my nose ring…NOTHING. I heard from others that it was a big issue a week ago but now not so much? No one contacted me about it so I guess I’ll just shut up.
I was reading some magazine other day about a guy MARK JEN who used to work at Google. He was let go from his job for disclosing some sensitive information…it seems like Google doesn’t want anyone to say anything about working at Google. NOTHING.
His blog.
This is pretty much old news to others but I thought it was pretty interesting.

I have been so busy with finals that I am not even thinking about my sister's upcoming wedding. If I think too much about it my head will be in Toronto. So two more days to go! Hopefully the hotel I'll be staying in has internet connection..but then would I really have ANY time to be on the net?!? I doubt it.
okay..here I go again..thinking about it.
must stop.................................................too hard................................

Why is Yucca Mountain one of the most researched sites in the world?

Yucca Mountain Project

Monday, May 02, 2005

I was up till’ 4 a.m. working on a project yesterday…and it was assigned so long ago. Procrastination is really…making me mad…not to mention tired!!!!
I have to learn to manage my time better.
No more staying up to work on something I had so much time to do.
The project I was working on turned out so nice though
I had the opportunity to use a lot of my digital camera pictures to correlate with the stories I read in literature. Those who saw my portfolio thought the pictures were from some far away places!

No More putting things off!!

Don’t say you don’t have enough time. You have exactly the same number of hours per day that were given to Helen Keller, Pasteur, Michelangelo, Mother Teresa, Leonardo da Vinci, Thomas Jefferson, and Albert Einstein.

-H. Jackson Brown. Jr.

I hate driving these days. I am always running out the door the last minute and driving crazy on the road! I have a headache every time I am out the car. Maybe is the music I listen to and thinking about way too much. Driving used to be relaxing. I have to be in the moment.

Must take care of my time.
I don't think Blogger has the best spellcheck program.
I am sure I have a ton of spelling mistakes.
ohh well
